Welcome to Primary Sound

Primary Sound Studios is owned by chief engineer Jacob Belser, a professional audio engineer for 20 years. We offer top quality audio recording specializing in music of all types, including classical and jazz, in addition to the vast amount of pop/rock projects recorded here. Video recording is an option as well, please contact us for details. We use Avid Pro Tools software, Antelope Audio A/D and D/A converters, and are one of the few studios around that have a Studer A80 24 track 2" analog tape machine. In addition to the large amount of microphones and equipment, we also have various instruments including a Mason and Hamlin model A grand piano, a Kimball 6710 grand piano, a Hammond M3 organ with modified Leslie 251 cabinet, a Fender Rhodes, an Estey reed organ, a tack piano, and various other smaller instruments.

The real highlight of the studio is not the gear or the instruments, but the experience we can offer as well as the sound of the rooms. The studio is located in a 90 year old former church, with oak floors, tall ceilings, and a very large live recording room, easily big enough to accomodate a medium size orchestra. There are multiple isolation rooms with varying acoustic properties suited for different purposes.
